What if; Hope
Meet The Team

Founder & President
Wendy Criswell
After losing my husband in 2021, I had countless hours of grief therapy, grief yoga, smash rooms, and scream therapy. I finally decided I needed to do something. I wanted to make a difference and envisioned financially helping. Thank you to all of our supporters and special thanks to this amazing volunteer team!

I am the daughter of Wendy and an advocate for suicide prevention. I work as a Registered Nurse, caring for pediatric patients. I am happily married to Steven, my companion of 22 years. I am an uber proud momma to Braylon (18) and Brienne (12), the brightest lights in my life. On 12/25/2021, I lost my incredible and otherwise unstoppable step-father to suicide. I know your pain. What if; Hope is a fantastic resource for loved ones suffering the effects of suicide- a much too common tragedy. My passion is to help and to care. We want you to know that you are not alone. The sudden, unexpected and horrific reality of suicide is devastating. In the time of your greatest need, let us help you. <3

My life is surrounded with much love from my significant other, my children, grandchildren, family and friends. I am retired from the healthcare and hospitality industries. I am united with Wendy's passion for her foundation. I am honored to embark on this compelling journey and feel that this is my calling. I lost my nephew to suicide in 2022 and also a dear friend many years ago.
The "what if's" are endless... We "hope" to spread awareness throughout the community. We "hope" to advocate for resources. We "hope" to change outcomes and make a difference. We "hope" to offer preventative services, your life is worth living.

Hi! I'm Amanda and am mother of 2 daughters who are my everything. I was honored when I was asked to be a member of this amazing board. I hope to bring awareness to the importance of mental health. I became a widow after my husband's suicide in February, 2023. The question "What if" is something I've asked myself all too many times. By being a board member, I believe it allows me to continue to have hope and to pass that hope on to those who have been affected by the sudden devastating and unexpected loss of their loved ones.

Mental Health Director
Christy Daron
With two decades of experience as a social worker, joining the team What if; Hope is one of the honors of my life. I serve to provide mental health support and referral support to social service connections needed of our families and individuals in need in the aftermath of suicide. I live in Delaware County, Ohio with my husband and our four young adult children and precious grandchildren living nearby. As a born Buckeye, I also teach at OSU in the College of Social Work. I bring a depth of understanding to the complexities of supporting individuals and families navigating a wide spectrum of life's stressors. Importantly, I have worked extensively with adults and children grappling with the profound impacts of losing loved ones to suicide, offering compassionate care during incredibly challenging times (including law enforcement and their families). My commitment is to provide empathetic and trauma-informed support to help people find pathways toward healing and positive well-being.
Suicide often results in the bereaved left with an emotional storm and sometimes financial stress. If you are a family member of a person who died by suicide, I encourage you to reach out to us to see how we may be able to help you weather the storm. You are not alone.
